System

         DZZ5 automatic weather station (AWS) is a high-performance and scalable ground meteorological observing system designed to collect a range of meteorological elements, including air temperature, humidity, wind direction, wind speed, barometric pressure, precipitation, ground temperature, visibility, solar radiation, among others.

● Technical specifications

 2.1 Working environment

Working temperature: -40 - + 60 (electrical part);
Relative humidity: 0% - 100%;
Barometric pressure: 500 - 1100hPa;
Precipitation intensity: ≤4 mm/min;
Salt and fog corrosion resistance.

2.2 Measurement indicators

The sensors aboard DZZ5 AWS meet with the basic performance requirements for a meteorological observation sensor defined by the World Meteorological Organization’s Guide to Meteorological Instruments and Methods of Observation (7th edition).

2.3 Clock accuracy

DZZ5 AWS is designed with a real-time clock of high-precision performance. It supports automatic online correction.

The collector’s built-in battery, when in constant use, is recommended for a replacement once every two years.

2.4 System power supply

With a low power consumption design, DZZ5 AWS is equipped with a battery of 100AH/12VDC for power supply. The battery can be charged either by solar panels or by VAC. 

● Features

 DZZ5 AWS is designed with the following features:
Dual power supply system using both VAC and solar power;
Low power consumption and long lasting independent operation;
Precision data measurement with quality control;
Reliable performance and easy maintenance;
Specialized meteorological software that are simple to operate and easy to use;
Optional meteorological elements to be measured;
Lightning and interference resistance;
Corrosion, salt and fog resistance; and
On-site or remote real-time processing.

● Configuration

DZZ5 AWS is designed with four major components: sensors, collector, communications and power supply.

Sensors: measuring meteorological elements, including air temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, wind direction, wind speed, precipitation, air temperature, visibility and total radiation. The actual elements to be measured will be configured depending on users’ requirements.

Collector: collecting, calculating and storing all the signals stemmed from the sensors. DZZ5 AWS can either be a HY1300 model or a HY1300+HY1100 model.

Communications: transmitting the data processed by the collector to the computer.

i. Wireless: GPRS supported by CAWSAnyWhere.

ii. Point-to-point: GW1000KC-4 supported by AWSTerminal

iii. Director link: GC25T (serial separator) supported by AWSTerminal.

iv. Satellite: Satlink2 supported either by CAWSAnyWhere or by CAWSTerminal.

Power supply: providing the needed power to the entire system, using batteries as an energy storage device. Solar panels are mainly used to charge the batteries, with VAC as a backup charging source.
